How doess one save Google Mail to My Documents and free space on Gmail?

I have to keep deleting precious mail that ive saved over the years...how do i save gmail?

How doess one save Google Mail to My Documents and free space on Gmail?
Download Thunderbird 2.0 from www.mozilla.com/thunderbird and set your account up from there, you will have to go into your Gmail settings and enable POP so thunderbird can download all your email.
Reply:if you are using pop3 with outlook express you can do that. but not if you view the mail in your browser

Reply:You have 2 choices that I know of - use the usual browser Toolbar and Save As to save anything to your computer wherever you want to save it, or get your gmails forwarded to your computer Inbox, whatever it is - in the normal way (you should find the info on how to do it both on Gmail and in the Help on your computer email) and then save them from there or Archive. If you are short of space, save to an external hard drive.
